Went to fry's and tried out a few system for the new tv. Been doing a bit o' research and was happy with just getting a 2.1 system (small room and lazy to run wires).

I was torn between the Denon S 101 or the model above it, the 301.

the 101 was 999.99 and the 301 was 1599.99

Difference? More power, and an upconverting dvd player and an iPod port with on screen controls.

Anyways, went home with the 301 and set it up.. easy and clean. popped in the Incredibles and the sound was amazing, but the picture? eh.. after playing it for about an hour with different cd's and dvds, I packed it back up and am returning to fry's today. I'm tempted to get the bose 321 gs, despite all the haters. (999.99)

Found out the 101 is only 799 at bestbuy so I'm just going to exchange it at fry's with their low price guarantee.


Can't wait to get home tonight!

It works great. I think the dvd player in the denon just isn't up to snuff, but it does put out great sound for the money and size.
