microsoft word question....
i upload my pics to a photobucket account & they are named in number order. i have a seperate forlder for the regular-sized pics & one for the thumbnails. then when i want to send them to people, i do the html code in a word doc for the first clickable thumbnails & then copy the code & repaste it for the total number of pics there are, having to change the sequence order in each paste.
my question is this : is there a way in word to maybe put the numbers i want to change in a sequence in there & then have word replace it in the order???
like this:
<a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v501/james3370/Friends/15%20July%202006/XXX.jpg"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v501/james3370/Friends/15%20July%202006/thumbnails/XXX.jpg"</a>
<a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v501/james3370/Friends/15%20July%202006/XXX.jpg"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v501/james3370/Friends/15%20July%202006/thumbnails/XXX.jpg"</a>

where the XXX would be replaced with a ! in the first set, a 2 in the second set, etc????

i found a way to do it, sorta.....
find/replace....replace XXX with 1st #.....replace - replace......change #.....replace - replace....etc
just wonder if there is a way to have it do it on it's own w/out having to keep changing the # myself????
not a big deal when there are only 5 or 10 pics, but when i have a weekend like this past one where there are almost 75, it gets kinda monotonous LOL

Excel might be able to do it. I know it will continue number patterns, I don't know about a web address like that.

I think he wants Word to RENAME those file names, so he doesnt have to copy and paste each of the links.

lets say i have 50 links.....i'd do the whole link above 50 times & then want word to change the 1st set of XXXs to 1, the 2nd set to 2, etc
