ok heres the deal I understand the use of CGI and that it can be done rather well at times (LOTR trilogy is a good example of well done CGI).

What I have issue with is using it as a fix all for lazy film techniques. It has become cliche to even use CGI and the technology really isn't far enough along to be considered seamless in a majrity of the films it is used in.

I think the film world would be better off if it just went back to traditional means for special effects and makeup and ditch CGI altogether.

I thought it was cool that in the new Bond movie, they actually did stunts...they only used CGI to clean up action sequences, not to actually create them.

 

the problem is it's like "shit that'd be expensive... eh... throw it at the CGI guys"

i agree that i'd like to see something more realistic... but i must admit CGI is much better than the 80's clay figure craze.

i wish we'd go back to models on strings and hten add in the CGI to clean it up and add little things. but it's just annoying to go see a movie that doesnt have any real stuff anymore
