Default What is the best way to strip paint off a car?

Tonight it took me 3 hours just to strip the hood of my car using an orbital sander and 60 grit sandpaper. Not to mention my hands hurt like hell. Any easier/faster way to do this?

My step dad use to paint cars, use airplane stripper. That's what we called it. Just go to your local Car Paint store and ask for some. dosen't take long to strip a car at all

I heard about the aircraft stuff. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Also I am not just refinishing. The Rustoleum will bond better to metal.

What are you going to do after you strip it? Sand, primer then sand some more?

I've used the aircraft remover on a valve cover. It peels paint like bubbling skin on a burn victim.

Aircraft stripper. Even takes off powdercoat. Make sure you wear rubber gloves, goggles, and paint mask. Don't get it in your eyes or on your skin...that shit burns like a motherfucker.
