For some reason i thought texas still had hanging, but i thought it was rediculous and didnt want to be flamed over it.

Well it's the human rights activists who are making the rules in that respect.

You also know that when a person is sentenced to death they have to go through the appeals process....HAVE TO! They can't just sit back and say OK ya caught me lets get it over with. Instead there are three appeals that have to be made before you can accept the loss. These appeals take average of 3 years a piece which means 9-10 years from sentence you may see the needle.

If you go for extended appeals or there is some loophole your lawyer is working on the appeals can last 15-20+ years while the state foots your bills for you.

I just searched on google and pulled this map. Wow, I didn't know the chair was still used in so many states. The dark green states currently use the chair and the light green states have historically used it.
