Default Would you trade...

A 2005 Yamaha R6 for a 2002 Yamaha R1? I found an ad in Craigslist of a guy that is selling his 02' R1 cuz he wants to get a 600cc and I was wondering if I should offer him a trade.

Not sure but he says "I have probably gone on a total of 10 to 15 rides on this bike since I have owned it." And I know how uncomfortable it is to ride for long distances so he couldn't have put that many miles on it. Than again, he says "Since I have owned it" so there may have been a previous owner.

But why not. I have been looking to upgrade to a liter bike but don't want to pay anymore than I have for my current bike and this guy wants to downgrade.

well, in your specific situation, the R1 is 3 years older than what you have, and you have no idea how that thing has been maintained and handled over the past 4 years.

I would honestly not do it. Just because bigger bikes are known to be beat up more then a lower cc bike.

Ok, I can kind of see where you're coming from. 3 years is quite a gap. I was just giving myself reasons to get a liter bike because I want one so bad :happysad:

thats one reason and i see it as a step back from something newer to something older. most of the time when you get something older from someone you get there problems as well.
