not to thread jack but anybody here ever had Great Lakes porter? (called something fitzgerald) had one the other night and I was really impressed. had roasted barley so it has that slight chocolate/coffee taste to it, kinda like guiness. might split a case of it with a buddy...

new castle has that coffee caramel taste to it.

yeah its weird cause the bottle said its brewed to the german/belgium purity laws which means that the only ingredients are water yeast barely and hops. (missing one?). its weird that they can get such a defined chocolate flavor without adding anyhting.
