Default Problems with wireless...

ISP: Qwest DSL
Modem/Router: Actiontec WT701-G
Computer: Sony VAIO Laptop VGN FS760W

Never had any problems with the wireless connection up until today. I am supposedly connected @ 56mbps with my laptop when all of a sudden I am trying to surf eBay or any other site and the connection "bogs" down to dial up speeds. I double click the wireless connection icon on the task bar and it slows to speeds of 36 mbps then 24 mbps and it's showing it's transfering bits but the comp is not receiving any. So I restart the computer and everything is fine for another 10 minutes until I get the bog again. My guess is that something is wrong with the retarded Qwest modem/router. Does that sound like the problem guys? Help me Honda nerds :wtc:

Do you have limewire or any other file sharing protocol on your machine? Sounds like people could be piggy-backing on your bandwith.

Does MAC authentication deny access to people trying to connect with my wireless? I have it checked down as deny all. Then under the exception list I put down my laptop and that's all :dunno:

Damn.. not sure. When you described you as being fine, and then then the line SLOWLY slowing down, just sounded like people reconnecting with their downloads off your machine. :hs: That was my shot in the dark. Other heads may have more.
