Default question about car purchase

I found a car for sale online that is pretty close to me. It's at a mom and pop dealership. My question is, should I be leary of cars being sold at small independent dealerships moreso than say, an independent seller? I just figure with an individual, they should know the history of the car a bit whereas these dealerships might just want to turn a buck? What do you guys think. Here's the car I'm thinking of checking out:

Oh yeah, this dealership is located in a "less than desirable area"...but I'd still like to think that maybe its legit.

I would say it's more common to find one that's been wrecked at a dealership than a private seller. Other than that private sellers are often just as full of shit as dealers. Occasionally you'll find a private seller who kept receipts but that's pretty rare these days.

you're usually better off with an independent seller, but if it's a good deal, I wouldn't let the fact that its a dealership scare you off. Just look over it thoroughly and a carfax wouldn't hurt.

:edit: my, what popular sentiments.

normally I would say it's fine. You just have to look at the dealership and the area that it's in. That one is in a crap part of town if I remember correctly.
