They use cheap materials that'll start to fade within 3-5 years, they don't take the time that's neccessary to mask off parts that shouldn't be painted (if they even mask at all) and all the do is scuff the areas...something you could do at home. If you want it done the proper way, spend the extra money. In the end it'll be cheaper b/c if you go the easy way and go to Maaco...every 2 years, you'll spend just as much by paying the extra at a nice body shop. I don't know about all other Independant Body Shops like my dad's, but we guarantee our paint for 10 years. So if you go to Maaco, get a warranty or something, unless you're planning on selling the car.
It was more or less rust prevention till I can afford a better job. I wasn't expecting anything awesome, but I still didn't expect the crap that I got.

I know that. I repaired all the rust, just didn't want anything new popping up. I may come to Statesville when I am ready to have the Mustang done. See if you can own up to your statements.

where you from? We're booked until the first of July. My dad usually don't like working on older cars...but he'll do them on occasion, you're more than welcome to stop by and get an estimate though..they're free.

Anderson, SC. It will be at least a year. I am gonna do the married thing and buy a house first, just saving up for a hefty down payment right now.

Wow. I might not be getting it painted. Theres a city wide garage sale thing going on and I have my car parked out on my driveway for people to see. We've gotten 3 calls this morning, 1 person(That didn't call) came and looked at it and expressed interest in it. They're coming back later today or tomorrow with their daughter who wants to get it.

Awesome. If you can get away without painting it, by all means, go for it. Alot easier on you.

Yeah. I'm asking 4500 for my car right now, stock radio and all ready for a cd changer(but none). I don't know how much I'll be willing to go down.
I'm going to go take a look at a hatch when my sisters ebay auction gets over in about 4 hours.

Todays a good day. Like a said, theres a huge garage sale event going on in my city/town. I put my car out on the driveway. I've had two serious people come and look at it, both will be back in the next couple days, I've had 4 people call about it. Then I went around to a couple garage sales and got an airhockey table for 10 bucks. Soon I'm going to take a look at a car.
