Scroll down to "Blackbox for Windows"
Install the 0.0.90 version, than install the upgrade right above it.
It took me a while to learn how to fully customize everything the way I wanted it. It takes some playing around with. You'll discover a lot of things accidentally and alot of things are obvious. There are also tons of plug-ins available that act as widgets for the interface. All the plug-ins start with "bb" so it should help you to find them on the net.
yeah, i set up one of those mac-like widget proggies on my PC, and it just became an annoyance, so i disabled it.
i too don't get the point when you actually do real work on your machine. i mean, i like to use my computer as more than just an information ticker, and as more than just a quick, heads-up access to useless little programs (whatever happened to shortcuts?).
i think it's a toy more than anything.

I love them. I just don't like how ALL of them pop up in DASHBOARD. Autonomy is nice

Global Settings > Create New Icon
Once you create it you can pick what icon picture it uses and what command it will execute. If you want it to be a shortcut to a file path, you need to edit the .rc file in the plugins directory of your blackbox folder. It should be in the BBIcons subdirectory.
