Default Bike (road, mtb) peeps

how do i find out what speed a bike is using the gears? one side can switch to six and the other just 3.

Multiple the number of front cogs and the rear cogs.

actually you need to count the teeth on the cogs to find the correct ratio
the cogs are not always in a linear prportion to each other

# front teeth / #rear teeth * wheel size = distance per one revolution of the pedals

is it # of teeth in a cog? its a 700c wheel. i didnt think it was gonna be complicated.

I think you're complicating this...

You just want to be able to see this is "xx speed bike", right? So if you have 3 gears up front and 6 in back, then you have an 18 speed bike/.
