Default North East Acura Totalled my car

This is what North East Acura in Latham NY did to my car wednesday 5/24/06

Words cannot describe how pissed I still am right now. I did not get a wink of sleep after seeing these pictures that a friend of mine sent me that night.

History: I took the car up to the dealer (2 hours from my house) on saturday 5/20 because 3rd gear would not always go in and would sometimes pop out.

The dealer dupicated the 3rd gear issue and tore the tranny apart. After it was back together they took it for a ride.

How it happened: They told me the mechanic was going around a corner, shifted down into god knows what gear, the car over-revved, went out of control and it hit a concrete barrier doing 50 mph.

The original story was total bs as they tried to tell me he shifted into 3rd and it popped out, then torque steer took over made the car lose control.

I saw the car in person on friday the 26th and about flipped my lid.

While I was up there they agreed to give me a new car (it is leased, not financed) and they will replace everything on it.

I have called them almost everyday trying to find out about the accident report and where my new car is. Ive gotten the same bs each time..
This morning I spoke with the owner and told him I want a refund of this months lease payment because I will not have a car, he got pissy with me and said I do have a car, their POS loaner. BS!! I spoke with my lawyer today and it is now all in her hands.

I am beyond disgusted with this dealership and I want EVERYONE to know what they did and how I am being treated.

Request a big discount (ie, no commission) on a new Acura

That is pretty irresponsible of the dealership. At one dealership I saw the mechanic drive a customer's car into another car...in the lot. At least it was a lease which makes it somewhat better. If it was your pride and joy, it would hurt MUCH MUCH worse.

If they don't take care of it, go talk to Acura directly. In my experience, Honda and Acura are both very good with customer service.

Wow dude, so sorry

I went to that dealership when I was 16 and the saleswoman was practically begging me to test driven an RSX-S  Where are you from?

That totally sucks. I would demand a brand new car with some free 18" Acura A-SPEC wheels and a free month's payment.

Have you thought about contacting the Times Union? I'm sure they'd love to get ahold of that story. Keep us updated!!
