I loved the NY thruway...best maintained road during winter...I didn't mind that I had to pay the fee after seeing how fast that thing is acted upon. and EZPASS kicked MAJOR ass.

Clearly you've never been on it when it's packed and both lanes are doing 60MPH because all the assholes from Massachusetts are driving home and sitting in the left lane. 2 lanes most of the way = not enough.

Oh I have...I spent 5 years driving on the thruway...mainly in the rochester area and off and on driving from rochester to albany and sometimes down the 87 to NYC.

Rochester area = 3 lanes But yeah it is really well taken care of in the winter.

Oh my lord yes. Or when they close down a lane and make it 45 for about 5 miles and for no apparent reason.
When it becomes 3 lanes south of Rochester for about 3 miles I get so giddy!
When the hell are they going to finish the Pembroke exit? Like anybody really wants to stop at Flying J.
