my friend is interested in a 90 Carrera Conv, with close to 100k miles on it. its a private sale for $2500. is it a good price? what should he look out for?

Don't even bother looking. If it runs and drives, it's probably a trick to get you to "break it", then they force you to pay to fix a problem they already know about.

depending on the condition you could part it out for 4 x that amount...used porsche parts are an amazing thing

just selling off pieces of my interior, a/c system, p/s system, spare tire, etc. i netted $1500 (half what i paid for my car in the first place)
