US distributors and evil dubbers != people who made it.

But they pay royalties to the ppl who animated and wrote it so it's indirect payment. The only one I consider truly evil is Fudimation. Everyone else is ok, maybe not the best acting and often not the best translation but atleast they're trying.

But for the love of god I don't want to get into a dub/sub argument. DVDs are dual audio so it's all good.

but the fansubbers usually have references and are more accurate than the US dvd distributor subbers are. [my friend is the leader of the oyasumi fansub group that did black cat, pani poni dash, and now tokko | i'm probably going to be a timer for them this summer] Also i'm just busting your balls about dub/sub argument because we all know sub > dub because the japanese take pride in voice acting and it rivals real life acting in the United States.

I like the references some of the fansubbers use. It is helpful. The japanese VAs are always better, but the dubs are improving. I'm always willing to give dubs a chance but there are some I refuse to watch the dubs. Things I can't tolerate.
1. Will Shatner type acting
2. Southern accents, I don't care if you think it's close to a Kansi accent never give a souther accent to a japanese character.
3.Music, just listen to the dub of Kiddy Grade and you'll understand. Those bitches can't harmonize
4.Outrageous script changes. Changing things around is fine as long as it's still close but changing the jokes, referances, ect. to suit a US audience is just shit.

Alright I'm done, so yeah sub>dub unless you don't want to read, funimation=shit

Picked up Azumanga Daioh and Noir slimpaks, Eureka7 vol.1, and GITS today... Honestly, I meant to buy GITS so long ago but just passed it up, now I'm all behind and haven't seen any of SAC or 2nd GIG.
