Default How does eBay work now?

How does it work out with all the seller fees and shit?

I have something I want to sell, but I dont want to have to end up paying to sell the crap.

Anyone using it to sell items?

you get the following fees:

1. listing ... whatever your starting amount is (within a price bracket) you get dinged a fee.

2. ending value ... whatever the final selling amount is (within a price bracket) you get dinged a fee

3. images ... more pictures = more money. You can use other image hosting sources to save costs

4. options ... bold your auction title, highlight it ... other attention grabbing options cost loot.

5. paypal ... you get nailed a 3% fee for all incoming funds.

I think that's only if you have a premier account. Allowing people to use Visa/Mastercard by way of Paypal.

I think.

The way to save on fees is to make the shipping cost the bulk of the sale. Don't they get fees based on the selling price and not the shipping price?

It depends also on what you are selling...if you are selling something cheap I think you don't make much...but if it is in the around 100 or more range and you set a low first bid and make some money you are cool.

Why? They have to pay the fees and then take a cut off the top in addition.

It is a small percentage fee. You will still make more than selling locally.
