Iran eyes badges for Jews
Law would require non-Muslim insignia

Jews were made to wear stars to identify them in Nazi Germany.

Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country's Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims.

It's in all honesty that I believe the US military intended to sweep into Iraq and build it into a fortification for an assault on Iran. Unfortunately, the military failed at following the most single important law of planning; K.I.S.S., and now we're worse off in terms of dealing with the potential threat that state poses.

As much as I don't approve of it, and in all honesty, unless they're killing, torturing, or preventing their population from leaving... what right do we have to say in the affairs of another country when it comes to social restrictions on their population?

***edit: Well, Iran's already doing those three things though h:

You know, the nazis had pieces of flare. They made the Jews wear them.

we don't have the right to dictate to any other country how they run their society. but when they adopt a discriminatory policy borrwed from nazi germany (presumably), is it an indication of what's in store, or will it stop there? do we step in and take a stand, or wait and see if it gets worse and worse? i don't have an answer for these questions, because i honestly don't know. my guess is it's just going to keep getting worse. but until they do something big, chances are, the rest of the world isn't going to take any action beyond sanctions and verbal arguments. which have thus far proven ineffective.

maybe they'll relocate all non-muslims to the neighborhoods immediately surrounding their new nuclear power plants :eek5r:
