owned by the floods
all the areas in yellow are pretty much underwater or will be later on tonight as the merrimack river reaches its crest. (expected to rise another 7-10 feet depending on what we get for rain tonight. The local weather is saying another 3-6 inches this evening. im glad i live on a hill (west main street if you can see it on the map goes up about 200 feet from the center of town and i live at the top)

you aint shittin, although this isn't even close. the town next to me (haverhill) is really fucked. the merrimack river is rising rapidly and is tidal so if it catches its crest at hight tide, merrimac, amesbury, westnewbury, newburyport, haverhill, lawrence and lowell are in trouble.

we dont think our dollars should pay for people who build in flood plains. that's what homeowners insurance is for. not to mention, that was stupid to put your house in a flood plain, huh?
but if he neglects to support the "victims" then other people will be pissed at him.

I live 50 feet from the Merrimack in Lowell, the water is 61 feet high right now. Some of these dorms might get flooded into the first level.
Finals have been cancelled aswell for two days, and it will continue to rain this evening. So by tomorrow, I can see the roads be under water, I might have to evac.

good luck man, seriously. last night i had to e-mail my professor that i wasn't coming back to school sunday evening becuase of obvious reasons. didn't want to get stranded somewhere (school is over an hour away and many of the roads leading there were flooded) i don't get the feeling she believed me becuase where my school is they only saw 6 inches. oh well. i can bring my digital camera if she has any questions when i turn in my final.
