I have it, it comes with a nice dark blue face plate (edit:I posted this before reading through the thread ). The only time I need to open it is to enter a new number or dial a new number. The phone works completely while closed. I love this thing. Worth the money

It also comes with a handsfree set and you can set it to voice answer, so if you have the handsfree mode on and your phone rings, you say answer and it answers then the call auto. ends when it is over or you could push the button near the mic.

Supposedly the next OS upgrade for the BB is going to have PTT. So I can chirp and bleep bloop all the time.

I got tired of having phones trying to do everything... and not doing them well.... I have an iPod for music, camera for camera.
I had the first camera phone, the first camera phone with removable memory. It just doesnt perform as well when you cram too much into the package.

 

sorry to burst your bubble, but you can only do that to people on the same network WITH PTT phones AND service that cost extra

 

I love it. I had teh 7280 that I bought from my friend. Used that for a while and got the 87. The screen difference alone is amazing. At first I didn't like how the keys were set up, they seem too close together, but I got used to it. Edge speed is so much faster than GPRS. I love it and probably won't get anything other than a blackberry anymore. Cingular just needs to role out the OS update as well as the Blackberry Internet Serivce update.

 

I know. I work for an agent, so I already have the PTT on my plan. A few of them have the 87 as well, so when it comes out, we'll have it.

 

Oh and the software it comes with doesn't work with my computer, so I just do things from my computer

I have a Sony-Ericsson T616 and I'm really holding out for something smaller, but the W810 has me sorta interested even though it's a hair bigger than the T616. The W600 is a little too chunky for me. But really I want something that's just smaller.

 

Even if he doesn't opt for the 4gb, the 2gb could be had for less than $100. The camera is one of the better ones out there for a camera phone. True, it's not going to compete to a dedicated digital camera, but it's good enough for random picture taking to share (ie a lot of threads here where everybody asks 'where are the pics?'). Rather than carry three different devices, at least you got a phone that comes pretty darn close to doing it all.
