e46 crew: aftermarket dvd removal

E46fanatics is not helpful, does anyone know how to remove a e46 centre console dvd player? Seems like the climate control needs to come out first but it won't budge. Is it screwed in or can it be popped out?

did you take out all the trims around it?
the AC vents pop out but takes some force..
