Yes, Grifter is right.
They had the car out on display at SEMA in 04.
In person, it is just gorgeous. h:

At the time, there was talk that the GR-1 would follow the Ford GT and go into limited production.

Ian Callum used to work for TWR where he designed the Aston Martin DB7 and Vanquish, Ford Puma, Volvo C70, and some Mazdas and Rovers. Notice a pattern in who the parrent company of all those brands is? So in '99 Ford hired him to be in charge of all Jaguar and Aston Martin designs.

Oh, and the DB7 was originally Jaguar Project NPX, the car planned to replace the Jaguar XJS. But it started to get too expensive to realistically sell as a Jaguar, so it was handed over to Aston Martin, and Jaguar then developed the XK8. Callum had already done most of the styling for the DB7 when it was still called Jaguar Project NPX.
