Normally I really like Tool but it seems after hearing some cuts off the new album that it is overly formulaic. The typical 30 second intro featuring a guitar or bass buildup, rest of group comes in, song goes into some pseudo artsy mode.

Sorry but it gets a 1 for originality.

 

its the same old shit that is why. radiohead was going on the same track then they changed it up

 

Umm, it's the same shit.... so? I didn't know bands were supposed to create a new style every cd they make, where is that rule, btw? And I think this is the darkest cd of them all... I think it's my favorite TOOL cd.

I am not impressed when a pseudo artsy band continues with the same formula over and over again. It's the same formula they used for Undertow. Granted I like the stuff up until now but for the times the formula doesn't have the same effect as it once did.

Maybe I have listened to it a few times...how do you know how many times I have listened to it?

 

It was ok at best for me...I like the old Tool much better.

 

So what do you mean by them using the same forumla? Do you mean their sound, the way they progress their cd's, or what? Cause granted they SOUND like old tool, the songs by no mean are the same. I don't know how many times you listened to it, that's why I meant maybe

 

they suck anyway. their music videos are cool though.
