Can you record two shows at the same time?

Yeah, it depends on your specific tivo box. DirecTV boxes have 2 tuners like fathergoat said.

 

right, depends on the box.. which do you have?

my TiVo box, i can't. it's a regular series2 box upgraded from 40gb to 80gb. i can however watch TV while it records something else, since i can split the line from cable to TV, and cable to TiVo to TV.. this however requires some fumbling of the remotes.

 

Well I put on Family Guy and 9th Gate... and they both said ok record. Then I tried a 3rd show and it asked me to cancel one of them to make room.


So I think they should be recording... I hope.

When you're recording two shows, you can watch a 3rd. BUT... it has to be from something that you have already recorded.
