HAN peeps... Recommend me a head unit
Fuck the thieves. I will listen to CDs again... I just dunno which brand to go with
h:
I had a panasonic I liked very much, and I've been looking at those again. BUT, I wanna get ideas of other good units out there, so I'm looking for opinions. Here's what I want:
Around $200 (new, used, or refurb)
Dot matrix display (Got spoiled with my Panasonic, and I dunno if I can go back to regular displays now)
Aux or iPod input capability
5 channel or better EQ
high pass and low pass filters
All the other generic CD player requirements.
I was looking at the Panasonic CQ-C7403U, which I can find for sub $200 online. Anyone know a unit that they would prefer to that for about the same price?

I like the Kenwood EZ-500.

It looks nice and clean and simple. Button lighting is switchable between green and amber, screen stays white.
Has an aux input, you can add a Kenwood KCA-iP500 adapter to hook an iPod up and control it from the headunit.
2 pairs of preamp outputs, if you set it to non-fading output for running a sub amp it has a low-pass filter, if you set it to regular it has a high-pass filter. Front preamp outputs, and all 4 speaker outputs from the internal amp, have a high-pass filter.
6 eq presets with one user-programmable preset, not sure on the 5 bands though. Might be just 3.
Me personally I don't care about the eq so much and I like the clean look.
