I use Kingston with no issue but I am just running regular CF cards and not SD. I also run Lexar (it's ok) SanDisk UltraIII (love it...buying more) all at 1 gig sizes.

so I should try the second one you mentioned?

My whole vacation will be on this, without me being able to upload it until I get back to the states, so I really want it to be good.

Well I would swear by SanDisk at this point and put Kingston in front of Lexar as far as it's reliability (though I have yet to get failures) but put Lexar ahead of Kingston for write speed.

I am not going to say go buy x brand because you need to make the decision and be confident in your choice. However, if I was packing for a one shot photoshoot oversees and had to take only one brand with me it would be SanDisk.

Hope that helps some.

Oh also forgot to mention, if you are going to be there more than a week I would seriously reccomend at least two of these 1 gig cards. There is a lot of neat things to take pictures of over there and a 1 gig will hold about 360 shots at high res jpg.....once you get shooting it is easy to shoot a lot in a short time and still miss stuff you want.

Nightshade, both of your posts are a great help. Like I said, with my camera i get around 100 shots with my 124, so how much would I get with a 1GB? I have an SanDisk now, and I like it.

I would bring about a good amount of AA nimh batteries and find out what type of adapters I would need for the charger also. And how much memory depends on how snappy you are about pics and how long you are going to be staying there. I would hate to be sitting with my camera deleting pics that I might not like because I ran out of space.
