Default credit card question

are there legit ways of talking to your credit card company to negotiate a lower interest rate?

my main CC has a decent rate at 12%, so i think im fine w/ that. but how about ones that have apr's at around 20%? i havent had any late payments on any of them. do i just call them up and ask "hey uh, could i get lower rates?" or do i threaten to pay everything in full and cancel the card? any tips are most welcome

I did this with my 3 cards a few weeks ago. On one I ended up havingto talk to a supervisor because I kept saying "come on, you can go lower than that."

I got them all lowered. One even gave me a balance transfer deal with 0% interest until the balance was paid in full. :crazyr:

Damn...whats your credit score...my main credit card is 8.99%. The only credit card that goes higher than that is stupid Best Buy and that will go up to 22%, but that is because Best Buy Credit is retarded.

You could always call and say that you are going to pay off the entire balance and cancel the card and that you have a better offer.
