OK let me start by explaining that although Shawn and I pass shots back and forth I actually like the guy for all his annoying traits.

He posted a link that he clearly knew was a warnable offense. I saw the post and went to the warning panel and gave him the appropriate warning points which eant he would be banned. Now seeing as I really have no ill will towards Shawn at all I didn't want it to be indefinite. so I gave him the points and made it so they expire in ten days rather than a more permanent ban.

When I returned from the warning panel he had changed the post acknowledging that the posted link was a warnable offense..this is admission of guilt and that he knew it was going to happen if he posted it.

Now after I saw the edit I posted in the mod forum regarding the reasoning as we are required to do as well as all the circumstances surrounding such action. I also said that it was up to anyone with the power to do so to either lower the ban time or let it ride until the ten days was up. due to Shawns past actions and his pushing of the boundaries I suggested he just be left to ride it out but if he was let go sooner it wouldn't bother me at all.

The decision was made to let it ride by all involved. I am an asshole and I pulled the trigger, I accept that responsibility, but I ws also doing what I said I would and would do the same to any member across the board in the same situation. So it isn't a matter of not liking Shawn nor is it a matter of anger or having a vendetta against him.

 

The way I see it, he posted something inappropriate, against his better judgement, then came to his senses within a minute of posting it, and did the right thing...despite any past confrontations he used his better judgment this time before any damage was done.

What if a mod did the same thing?

 

Mods answer to their actions in the Mod Corner to the admin. This would be something that would be brought up in there and not publicly..results may vary according to severity.
