What are good non-foofy whiskey-based mixed drinks?
Usually when I want a drink with whiskey in it I get a 7 & 7. I'm not so fond of Jack & Coke...so what other drinks are there with some whiskey in em and not too much else, but ain't straight up neither?

A good Whiskey drink that will get you respect at the bar is Jameson on the rocks. Bartender will nod and make you your drink. Irish Whiskey can heal.

Other than that, most bartenders would like to leave the Whiskey alone. I tended bar, and have noticed that seasoned drinkers didn't mess with mixing Whiskey with anything other than Coke. Other than that, it was a 7 & 7.
