Hi UDDER DAVE!!! :wavey:
Drinking age at 18? No way. That is a horrible idea due to the repercussions involved. Think about it.
1. Most 18 - 20 year olds already get access to alcohol anyway and get drunk.
2. Liquor sales may benefit in the early years, but will have a sharper drop in later years.
3. Insurance for cars would be almost non-affordable from ages 18 to 25.
4. Immaturity and alcohol do not mix well, more irresponsibility leads to greater public problems. Clubs, roads, domestic arguments, etc.
Legalize marajuana? As if the violence behind the drug industry isn't high enough. You should read up on the history of China and their relations with Britian. Find out how opium single handedly destroyed china's population, twice. Not good.
Tobbacco was the cash crop (besides cotton) and founded the very backbone of this country. Tobacco is still subsidized by our government. That would be a complete waste of government funds not to mention it would do nothing but ruin relations between big tobacco and america. I'd rather see America cut off subsidies and implement a regulation that a certain % of cigarettes produced must be sold over seas and not in our country.

1. Is there any proof that there are more alcohol related fatalities in countries that have a lower drinking age (like Canada or most European countries)? From what I've heard there are actually less in Europe but I've never actually seen the numbers.
2. I think don't that smoking marijuana impairs you any more than drinking alcohol does. Therefore, I don't think it makes sense to ban it based on that. It also is much less addictive than cigarettes and is the only drug that you actually need less of to get the same effects the more you use it. Legalizing it would also take it out of the hands of criminals and put it in the hands of big business which would be regualted. I think that this would reduce drug related violence. Think about it, it's much safer to go to the drug store to buy marijuana than to the street corner at 2am.
3. I just hate cigarette smoke and I know a lot of other nonsmokers feel the same way. I choose not to smoke and I hate that I can't go anywhere without breathing it in. If people want to do it then I am fine with that but they shouldn't be allowed to do it anywhere where other people who don't want to breath in the smoke could be exposed to it.
4. Raising the driving age to 18 could be a good idea. It would make it tough for all the 16 year olds that want to get a job though. But if it was shown to greatly reduce accident then I would support it.
