Default Ripped off?

My friend paid 450 CAD ~390USD to get his starter replaced with a refurbed starter. Labor included.

This was a dodge neon. I think he got fucked, since I can rebuild one for like 80?

Someone confirm!

I'm assuming ...

1. the job took much longer because tire guys don't swap many starters. This leads to more labor pay at what, $60 an hour?

2. the tire shop might not have the best connections when buying anything but tires. I bet they purchased the 1st starter they could find, any marked it up another $30.

Canadian Tire is one of the biggest chains of car part in canada. It's called Canadian tire because it started with tires. but now it sells everthing and has a huge inventory. Virtually all stores also have a full auto service department.
more then 400 stores nation wide.
