6000 page word documents
Thats why you break them up into smaller files. Usually breaking them off into 1000 page increments makes the process of spellchecking, formatting etc. go a lot faster. I always broke them down into 500 page documents and never had any issues.

yeah i would do that but they are preexisting files from like 2001. what it is, they are complete files of all of the bank statements issued per month for the entire credit union. the newer ones are broken in 3-4 PDF's per month and they are pretty fast but the old ones are just in big word files. finding 3 pages, formatting it, and printing it takes me about a half an hour or more

Why not just start a process of printing them to pdf files as you come across them? It would save a ton of space on the server and make them a lot easier to handle.
one that i was just working on froze and now i have to start over

im going to save my bank statements forever so i never put anybody through this!
