Uti
UTI is a good school. i have worked with a couple people that graduated there and they knew their stuff.
I went to Wyotech. awesome place if you are there to learn, shittiest place in the universe if you want to have a good time (campus in laramie, wyoming).
as far as making your hobby a job, it depends on how determined you are to get where you want to be. i'm 22, work as a full time tech at RUF Auto Centre, and i also work on the pit crew of a Grand American Rolex racing team. yes, i've worked the 24 hours of daytona.

with that school, its mostly 50/50, u either love it or hate. some of my friends that graduated the UTI in phoenix are working at the Porsche dealerships now. given those are the good ones, the ones that are ok are over at toyota and honda

however with WYOTECH i heard it sucked too... lol u go there to learn, not to play

I was going to go there for the power and performance class. But it costs I think 36,000$ and it's just not worth it to me. In under a year I've learned so much about cars to the point where I can tackle a project with no problem. I never thought I would ever rebuild an engine. I've often thought "what the hell am I getting myself into", but all I needed was some common sence and a Helms.

Currently attending there. Most of the core classes that you start off with are basic and you might try killing yourself. Most of the classes I've taken so far have been OE oriented. Although I haven't gone through the Hot Rod classes from what I've seen it's mostly domestic cars. So working at an aftermarket company is not really the main goal of there programs other than getting your feet wet and start learning and working on cars. As much as the people on this board think they know about UTI I'd go visit the school myself and check it out in person. There are different types of people that go there from lazy just graduated high school kids that know everything to old guys in there 40's who are there for fun. For the price of the program and what you come out with it it's definatly worth the $20-25k it costs for the auto program. If you have any questions you can IM me
