Fun with roadside bombs
An old Highschool buddy of mine just popped up on Yahoo news... turns out he was saved from a roadside bomb in Iraq thanks to an unofficial field modification to his Hummer.

I told that crazy bastard not to die over there, he seems to be doing a pretty good job. Hell, he has a fiance' waiting back homeside.

No shat! That's fawkin smart guys. Those windshields are a two piece set up so that would be pretty much perfect. Not only is he or she protected but they get a little bit of the air conditioning from the cabin, instead of the cool air (or heat in winter) mostly seeping out the large hole in the roof. And they'd stay a little bit dryer when it rains.
