A lot of the issues with larger people stem from years of poor nutrition. This is a good show as nutritional habits start while you are a kid. I have changed my habits from HS/College and it has worked wonders for me. However, for some people who are in their 30s, 40s etc it is too hard to change.

My ex's father has a LOT of health problems that stem from him not eating well. He is ALWAYS in the hospital and I understand that she gets upset but he does it to himself. He needs to exercise control and eat less food and less junk.

On the other hand my grandmother had poor nutrition and was a very bad diabetic (insulin dependent). She fell last April at my aunt's house breaking her hip and it was the best thing for her. My aunt (while she was recovering) got her to eat right and she no longer needs her insulin and is in MUCH better shape.

I have seen what the shitty food in this country will do to people and I vow to never let it happen to me again.

My "healthy" diet (especially in college) consisted of candy bars, various 7-11 foodstuffs (taquitos, bakery sticks, etc), cheese steaks, pizza, buffalo wings, etc. All of that was washed down with soda and beer. This was constant unless I went home, went out to a nice place (rare) or went to see my family in NJ.

I think about what I used to eat and it makes me sick. I thankfully have good cholesterol, good blood pressure, etc. My doctor told me at my physical in July all I needed to do was exercise and lose weight, which I had just started. I mean, I still enjoy some unhealthy food from time to time, but nothing like it was. It is funny because I have some candy on my desk a co-worker gave me for my birthday over a month ago and I have had none of it.
