Default Turbo compressor nipple thinngy?

The turbo I was going to put on my car has a brass 90 degree fitting right before the compressor outlet on the housing. I was looking at some other turbos and they either have that part of the housing blocked off or there is a bolt in it. I know it's for the wastegate but if I'm using an external one do I still need that fitting or can I just plug it up with a bolt?

You can use a hex plug with the same thread to seal it up.

So with an external gate I don't need to run that hose to it?

Well your external gate is going to need some type of reading before it pops open. How I ran mine was mainly from the intake manifold.
