While the test had some minor imperfections, I'm very happy to see that they tackled the issue.

On my daily commute, I'll always encounter the spaced-out drivers who either clog the left lane, blow through stop-signs, etc. Nearly all of them have a cell-phone plastered to the side of their head.

Hang up and drive. :madr:

 

I got stuck behind this one dumb bitch that was all over the road cause she was talking to someone... someone that was in the car with her!! Wether it's a cell phone, burger, radio or another person some people are just too stupid to be allowed to drive.

 

I scream at people on their cellphone while driving.

 

I'm seriously considering installing a pair of belt-fed turreted .50cal through the sunroof of the Integra. Add about 1500 HE rounds apiece and I'm set. :run:

The only problem is figuring out how to aim from the driver's seat. h:

 

That shit pisses me off, too.

On the other hand...on my way home from L.A. last night I came upon the drunkest driver I have ever encountered on the freeway. I didn't know what else to do except pass him when he swerved the other way.

Looking back on it, I should have called CHP before he hurt someone, or himself. There were tons of people on the road, so I'm sure at least 1 person made that phone call :happysad:

 

I've called a DD in once... the first (and most obvious) piece of advice I received was to keep your distance and don't pass if you don't have a healthy buffer of space between you and the suspected drunk driver.

It probably wasn't an issue for you on the wide SoCal highways, but on the two-lane stretch of Hwy 121 south from Sonoma, my friend and I were stuck behind the suspect car for about 12 minutes. By the way the driver slowed way down for the hills and corners and with all the swerving and panic braking, something was up.

Without going into too much detail, the CHP were waiting for him where 37 meets 121 at Sears Point Raceway. I don't know what came of it, but I suspect the driver was booked. I just got a nod from one of the patrolmen at the junction of 121 & 37 and that was it.

Since my friend was driving, I placed the call. IMO, if you're driving alone, it's best to keep your distance and place the call only if you can stop in a safe place.

Yeah, we seriously need to overhaul driver training in this country. If people didn't see driving as a chore, I honestly think we'd be safer. :hs:

 

I saw this episode a while ago. I try to keep my phone talks to a minimum and put it on speaker phone, so I at least have both hands free. I keep the talks as short as possible.

 

Yeah...I probably shouldn't have passed him, but it was I-5 on the grapevine = plenty of room.

As for making phonecalls...I have bluetoof :exnbp:
I still feel a little guilty for not calling, but I'll get over it.
