I had one headlight bulb burn out back in november, and replaced both of em with Silverstars. They looked a little whiter than plain bulbs but not hugely so. So now yesterday, a whole maybe 4-5 months later, one of the silverstars friggin burned out. I ordered a pair of Hella Xenon XP bulbs, so we'll see how they look and how long they last.
Then if I get my fog lights workin, I'll have all my lights!
My siverstars in the Integra burned out ~every 10 months for 3.5 years. But I was using high-beams in the lows, and the extra light output and whiteness was well worth it. I always had a couple extra on hand - I would stock up when Autozone marked 'em down to like $12.95 every six months or so.
Why not go with an HID conversion? I thought everyone had them now days.
Because HID conversion is a couple hundred bucks and these Hellas were 12 bucks each. h:
Really though, my headlamp housings are kind of horrible anyway, HIDs probably wouldn't help too much. The '01-'05 headlamps are projectors and much better for a HID conversion.
