why the hell not? Its comfortable, warmer than a hat, you can put obscene stickers on it... Even if you're really careful, you're still surrounded by elements beyond your control; visibility, other skiers, unmarked obstacles. I'm a very good snowboarder, but still crash even when riding well within my limits... its just the nature of being on the mountain.

Its a ways away, but you should hit up Snowmass some time... the mountain is freaking colossal with very good variety. You can get a 4-pass for like $100 wich incluces Snowmass, Aspen, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk, but generally Snowmass and Buttermilk are the only ones worth going to.
