Default Shared Folder Passwords

I have some folders sharing on my school lan, but I want to set it up so selected folders will require you to put in a password, when connecting to my computer.
I have a program that allows me to hide folders, but you need the program to unlock them.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and how to set it up?

how many people do you want to share files with?

do you want password only access, or username and pass access?

Are you an admin on this machine?

to have user/pass access you need Xp Pro with simple file sharing disabled.

Unless you are on a domain (assuming you are not), you have to create limited users for everyone you want to have access.

Then you can setup the folders you want to share with different sets of permissions for the different users.

Ug, finally. Ok I found where I could disable the simple file sharing. Now I have alot more options. Thanks.

Edit: But I still can't set it up so it prompts you for a password. Theres only one member for the permissions and thats Everyone.

Set up another user on the computer so you have more options? Although with XP, admin would have access to all so you'd have to ask for everyone else to login with the 2nd acct.

I'm sharing my files across the network, not just my computer.

Any help? Is there a program that will set this up? I'm using FolderGuard but you can't unblock it across the network.
