Wow, and here I was personally against upgrading to HD-DVD because I thought players would be around $1000.

No that's blu-ray in the 1,000 price range.

I have a dvd player the upgrades to 1080i, and that is good enough for me till I get a new projector.

There is nothing like dvd's in HD and 7.1 surround sound....

So HD-DVD = lower price, more titles available, sooner

Blu-ray = PS3 ($500 at least) and $1000... Wonder who will win the war.

so what will happen to all the dvd's i dunno about you guys but im not really looking forward to this, i'm pretty happy with dvd quality. i dont wanna spend $ on another player and more $$ dvds.
