GREAT movies! if you havent seen it rent it!!! awsome movies really goes in the classics of gang movies. About gangs in Bresil, how they go up in power! very very good... I watched it sutitled(original is portugues) and loved it.... i am pretty sure you can find it dubbed but i like the subtitled one. anyone seen it? i dont know why it didnt get more recognition :dunno:

yes rpobably city of god h: I liked the way they have little sotry for everything, different chapter and all that!

you really need to see it! Kinda pisses me off when great movies like that are made and there is no hype!!! dude the acting was great, the sotry was great(based on a true story), the images, the way it's directed.

It's kind of violent and painfull to watch at some point (kid in gangs and stuff) but it shows the reality of brazilian gang life!!!

ya 2003 but i dont remember hearing anything about this movie.

 

I saw it, thought it was pretty raw with how violence is in south america. It's actually based on a true story. The young guy who becomes a photographer is a real person, which I thought was cool. Crazy how he was right in the middle of gang warfare.

 

It didn't catch much interest from the general movie going public and pretty much went straight to video. The critics on the other hand gave it some amazingly high marks and refer to it a lot.

I watched it a few years ago and remember being highly impressed with it but it's been so long I forgot most of what I saw h:
