messenger gurus
My brother-inlaw is having problems with yahoo messenger, for some reason he tried using the "audiables" on it and it said it required for him to upgrade his flash to the latest version and it provided the link to do so. He went ahead and clicked on the link and installed the latest flash. Now he is unable to log into the yahoo messenger. It tells him something about the proxy settings or connections that need to be set, so I go ahead and go to the preferences box and into the connections, where it gives him 4 options to connect they are "no proxies" "use proxies" "firewall with no proxies" "no network detectoin" so I try under each option and nothing happens. The only way it wont give me the same message about the proxy settings is under the "firewall with no proxies" option it shows he is logging in and it wont log in.
I hope I make sense.

I tried, I even did a system restore
h:the only thing that happens when I uninstall and reinstall is that he has the old version of messenger and isn't able to use the audiables or the webcam options.

I am but whenever I try to use it with him it tells me he's using an older version of yahoo and it sends him a link where he can get the new version. When he tries to install it he recieves and error message.
