Default BMW people help me

For some reason, I'm seein 2001 7-series cars with two different factory navigation systems. First there's this one...

...and then there's this one.

These systems are both being shown in what are supposedly 2001 model year cars. What gives? The one with the screen on the side and the wood around it is from previous years as well. Did BMW switch over in the middle of the 2001 production run to the one with the big screen and black plastic?

So basically bigger screen with no wood trim = later build 2001 model?

Thats pretty much it. They got rid of the smaller screen in favor of the bigger one that they use in all the cars now. Even put in the the Range Rovers. If you want to check build date its on the sticker in the driver side door.

Agreed 150%. Love the wheels.
The early E39s were also dead sexy.
