if it were an acctuall muffler it would be pretty quiet.... imagine that thing being packed or something.

Example: If you were to yell into one end of it, the person on the other end would clearly hear you.

On a regular muffler, try yelling into it and hearing yourself on the other end.

Well assuming you can fit more more of the bars inside a muffler (used to create destructive interference), then the larger muffler would be more able to cancel out sound waves, not to mention a larger muffler could have thicker walls which increases sound wave absorbtion.

My argument is that it's so big that thicker walls wouldn't really matter. The waves would have lost velocity by the time it even hits them.
