Ya know they have actual guys that do that, although not quite like in the commercial. They drive around a route that has been determined by a more highly-paid guy, with a cell phone hooked up to a laptop and test the signal. Then another more highly-paid guy analyzes the data and adjusts various parameters at the cell sites.

My friend is an engineer for Verizon wireless. His job is to build cell towers when the guy above finds an issue
