Other than fuel economy, I'd imagine it'd be easier to come by a dx or lx engine vs. an ex. Not to mention it'd also be less expensive.

and I have a feeling the engine is going out.

I would like to downgrade the car from a vtec to a non-vtec.

First reason because I like to work on car, and think it's fun to convert stuff.

Second Reason I like to save gas.

I rather save more gas than to get more power.

Manual 30/35

Dx: Auto 29/36
Manual 32/37


Its not worth it just to get an extra 2 -3 miles on a different engine.

maybe not totally for saving gas, but combine that with a cheaper engine to begin with, cheaper parts, more avaliablity AND the fact that his current engine is having trouble...
