I'm sure its coated with something to have the black color....I got some aircraft stripper left I think...o:

But I dont know how tight the tolerances are inside the receiver. Maybe stripping the layer of black will cause the gun to explode h: I gotta read up more on it. Shower time, then pick up rifle time :run:

I hear they are not accurate h:

 

I am in California...so its a little more expensive for me. I have the cheapest 10/22 possible. It was $200 before tax and fees. In other states, Walmart would carry them. And when they go on sale, I have heard of them going as low as $140. :dunno: But if you are already familiar with rifles, I would just start with the reciever for $70, and mod your way to building a fully working one. I didnt go that route since this is my first rifle and I plan on shooting it without the mods for a while.
