That is too young for a kid to have a brand new car. I don't care what I'm making my child will be driving a used reliable car, prob a honda. From what I know and have seen children/teenagers don't have a good understanding of value and appreciation. If you hand a kid keys to a $20-40k car ur asking for trouble. I'l do the match dollar for dollar deal when it comes to cars if I can afford to, and when they graduate college/trade school if I can afford it I'll buy a new car for them. HS kids shouldn't be driving brand new cars(.)
I'm not trying to knock you, but I personally wasn't "handed" anything, and I'm better for it. I understand the value of a dollar and the consequences of being stupid. Being 25, I know I was a retard at 17-18, in all actuality I don't think I str8'nd up until I turned 22.
I'll do what my parents did. Taught me to save early and I got money when I was born from relatives. Plus intrest. THen I bought my dads car with all of it(I think they made up the difference and 'paid' like <1k)
