Because my original intention for the forum was as a place where people would post do it yourself threads and help members, but idiots (and by idiots I mean like a thousand of them) started posting idiotic questions asking how to do stuff, like change a tire/wheel and install this or that. Very few people actually contributed anything useful to the forum and it just became a junkyard with like 15-20 decent, helpful threads in it.

Could there be a way to make the DIY forum read only? DIY articles being submitted to a mod handling that forum, they could screen them and add the good ones. Just a thought.

Noone would submit DIY articles anyway. Just a pointless excercise. 99% of the people on this website (not the frequent posters) just take information for granted and never attempt to give back.
